Boy Scout Rock Climbing Merit Badge Program

We have recently kicked off a Boy Scout merit badge program.  This is a four hour instructional program that is comprised of two, two hour sessions.  The program includes all of the necessary climbing equipment and meets all of the merit badge requirements as specified in the official rock climbing merit badge handbook.  We have already seen considerable interest expressed towards this program and will no doubt be selling it to many of the local scout leaders in the immediate future.  Here are the costs and benefits associated with this program.

• Two, two hour instructional / climbing sessions
• Sessions are to be scheduled no more than thirty days apart

  • Climbing history
  • Types of climbing
  • Climbing equipment
  • Climbing knots
  • Safety
  • Team work
  • Levels of difficulty
  • Climbing technique
  • Rappelling
  • And More!

Once again, the scout program is an instructional program and as such differs in content, cost and duration from our popular birthday and group use packages.  We will however be booking these programs in much the same way the other group activities are booked: a staff member will fill out a standard reservation form (completely), we will need to get a deposit of no lelss than $25.00 per session booked, i.e. two, two hour sessions = $50.00 deposit.  The total cost for the merit badge is $30.00 per scout for a total of four hours of instruction, use of gear and day passes good for the day of the event + free equipment for the next visit.
